Palomar Symphony Orchestra teams up with the Second Avenue Klezmer Ensemble in 2014

The Palomar Symphony Orchestra, directed by Ellen Weller, will be presenting a program of music inspired by Jewish culture March 29 and 30, 2014. The programs will feature the Second Avenue Klezmer Ensemble, a San Diego-based group co-directed by singer Deborah Davis and clarinetist Robert Zelickman, with guitar virtuoso George Svoboda, 21st century contrabass icon Bertram Turetzky and drumset mast Bob Weller. The Klezmer group will be joined by Maestra Weller on piano, then the full orchestra in Myron Fink's concerto, "A Bintl Lieder." Rounding out the performance will be the "Theme from Schindler's List" by John Williams, the third movement of Mahler's Symphony No. 1, and a surprise! The full season can be found at PSO Season Calendar. Contact Ellen Weller if you are interested in joining!
